FedEx creates contest for small business grants

For the first time, FedEx is running a nationwide small business grant competition that will award $50,000 to six winners.  The first place winner will receive a grand prize of $25,000 to invest in their business. Dell Innovators Credit Fund, a financing initiative that provides entrepreneurs up to $150,000 in technology resources to maximize potential for innovation, speed to market and job creation. Through Dell Financial Services, qualified angel and venture-backed companies can access up to 10 percent of their funded amount, or up to $150,000, with accelerated, limited credit terms. DOE Puts Greater Emphasis on Commercialization of SBIRs

Check this out from DOE Director Manny Oliver.  More money for Phase I and II SBIRs and STTRs plus an upfront commitment from applicants that they have a commercialization plan for their technology.  Hurray.
