			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://annarborusa.org/news/news-of-note/NanoBio-and-Grand-River-Expand-in-Ann-Arbor" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/annarborusa.org/news/news-of-note/NanoBio-and-Grand-River-Expand-in-Ann-Arbor?referer=');">NanoBio Corporation and Grand River Inc. received high-tech, five year MEGA tax credits</a> on June 15<sup>th</sup>.  Both companies were approved by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the State of Michigan.  <a href="http://www.nanobio.com/" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.nanobio.com/?referer=');">NanoBio</a> is a privately-held biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing products for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.  They are committing to investing more than $1.4 million to expand its current facility and projects the creation of 32 jobs.  <a href="http://www.thegrandriver.com/" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.thegrandriver.com/?referer=');">Grand River Inc.</a> is an e-commerce technology company that is focused on development of open source e-commerce solutions for mid-market retailers.  It designed, developed and maintains such sites including Gander Mountain, HoMedics and LaJolla Group.  They are committing to investing over $1.1 million in capital and project the creation of 48 jobs.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Systems In Motion, a Silicon Valley-based IT services firm, has chosen to locate a new support center in the Ann Arbor region.  Systems In Motion was approved today for state tax credits by the Michigan Economic Growth Authority board, and will also receive support from Ann Arbor SPARK, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Washtenaw County Employment Training and Community Services (ETCS-Michigan Works!), Michigan Department of Information Technology and Eastern Michigan University (EMU).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Axiobionics and Dexter Research are expanding in Ann Arbor with MEGA tax credits from the State of Michigan. approved today.<br />
Dexter Research, founded in 1977, is a leading global manufacturer of infrared thin-film thermopile and silicon detectors that are used in OEM products in the automotive, gas analysis, medical, military and defense industries.   The company plans to expand at its current location and renovate existing lab environments and clean rooms to support high-tech microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).<br />
To support its expansion and renovations, Dexter Research will invest $3 million over the next five years and add 47 new employees – nearly doubling its workforce from its current 58 employees.</p>
<p>Columbus, Ohio-based Axiobionics, formerly Bioflex, Inc., develops and markets new and innovative medical devices for pain control and neuro rehabilitation.  It specializes in the design of custom-made electrical stimulation technology and orthotic and prosthetic devices.</p>
<p>With its relocation to Ann Arbor, Axiobionics will expand its current product offerings through continued innovation and the addition of more than 100 new technical, design, manufacturing and administrative positions over the next five years.  The company will invest $2.89 million in its new Ann Arbor facility.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Three Ann Arbor-based companies are planning to expand in the region with support from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. <a href="http://www.velescopharma.com/" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.velescopharma.com/?referer=');">Velesco Pharmaceutical Services</a>, <a href="http://www.cas-mi.com/" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.cas-mi.com/?referer=');">CAS-MI Laboratories</a> and <a href="http://www.essen-instruments.com/" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.essen-instruments.com/?referer=');">Essen Instruments</a> were all approved today for MEGA tax credits from the State of Michigan.</p>
<p>“It is exciting news and a testament to the strong entrepreneurial culture supported in the Ann Arbor region that these three companies are choosing to expand in our community,” said Michael A. Finney, CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK.  “The Ann Arbor region and all local businesses benefit from the strong partnership that exists between state and local leaders.”</p>
<p>Velesco Pharmaceutical Services, founded by former Pfizer employees in 2007, provides analytical and drug formulation to small- and medium-sized pharmaceutical companies. CAS-MI Laboratories, a contract research, product development and testing center, plans to invest $3.6 million to expand its research and development services in Ypsilanti. Essen Instruments Inc., inventor and manufacturer of life science instrumentation equipment, will open a new Discovery Services Unit, a team of contract research scientists, technicians and instrument operators in Pittsfield Township.</p>
<p>In total, Velesco, CAS-MI and Essen will create 127 direct <a href="http://www.annarborusa.org/career-services/" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.annarborusa.org/career-services/?referer=');">jobs in the Ann Arbor region</a> and invest more than $7 million in capital in the local community.</p>
