Nine Michigan companies recently received investments from the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund, totaling more than $2 million. To date, the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund, a collaborative effort of Michigan’s SmartZones, has awarded 72 Michigan companies with seed funding totaling more than $16 million.

Twelve Michigan companies have received a combined total of more than $444,000 through the Michigan Microloan Fund Program, bringing the total amount loaned through the Fund to more than $2.4 million. The companies received the funding to support commercialization of their core products.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) recently awarded $100,000 to Ann Arbor SPARK, a public-private partnership whose mission is to advance innovation-based economic development in the greater Ann Arbor region. Ann Arbor SPARK will use the funding to manage MichAGAIN trips to Boston, Chicago, Palo Alto, and Washington, D.C. this year.
